Product Description:
Starter & Add Bookcase Section.
46" High Add unit, double faced, with one intermediate panel, one top,
one bottom, and four slanted adjustable shelves.
Materials:
Lumber: All
exposed wood shall be Northern Red Oak free from all detrimental defects
and selected in uniform grade and color. Air and kiln dried to final
moisture content of 5 to 6%. This material will then be allowed to
condition a minimum of 30 days before machining.
Cores: All cores
are to be Type 1, Grade B, Class 2 panels and shall have a medium
density of 35 to 50 lbs./cubic foot. All specifications will follow the
guidelines outlined by the National Particle Board Association
specification AMST-D-1037-63T.
Veneer: Exposed
veneers shall be Grade "A" plain-sliced Red Oak not less than 1/28"
thick. Face veneers shall be free from splits, patches and detrimental
defects.
High pressure laminates:
Laminate material shall be .050" thick and will meet NEMA LD3 standards.
Backing sheet not less than .020" shall be used where appropriate.
Finishing:
Three-step process incorporating oil based stain to specified color,
Power Process Opticlear Pre-Catalyzed 25 degree lacquer sanding sealer
and topcoat 30-35 sheen. All parts sanded between coats.

Component
Specifications:
Top is ¾" thick oak veneer MDF with two 2¾" wide
solid oak rails rabbeted to the front edges. A solid oak cleat, 1½" by
2¼" is screwed to the underside of the top and dadoed to accept the
finished back panel. Top surface is covered with high pressure plastic
laminate.
Bottom is ¾" thick oak veneer MDF with two 5¼" wide
solid oak rails rabbeted to the front edges. A ¾" wide dado is centered
in the bottom to accept the finished back panel. Four access holes allow
levelers to be adjusted after assembly.
Intermediate panel is 1" thick oak veneer MDF with
¼" solid oak edging on vertical surfaces and ½" solid oak edging on the
top. Both inside surfaces are dadoed to accept metal shelf standards for
a flush application.
Finished back panel is ¾" oak veneer MDF.
Shelves are 1" thick, 14¼" wide oak veneer MDF with
a ¾" thick, 1¾" wide solid oak book stop edge. Solid oak blocks on both
sides of the shelf hold it at a fixed angle. |
