Materials:

Lumber: All exposed wood shall be Northern Red Oak free from all detrimental defects and selected in uniform grade and color. Air and kiln dried to final moisture content of 5 to 6%. This material will then be allowed to condition a minimum of 30 days before machining.

Cores: All cores are to be Type 1, Grade B, Class 2 panels and shall have a medium density of 35 to 50 lbs./cubic foot.  All specifications will follow the guidelines outlined by the National Particle Board Association specification AMST-D-1037-63T.

Veneer:  Exposed veneers shall be Grade "A" plain-sliced Red Oak not less than 1/28" thick.  Face veneers shall be free from splits, patches and detrimental defects.

High pressure laminates:  Laminate material shall be .039 to .050" thick and will meet NEMA LD3 standards. Backing sheet not less than .020" shall be used where appropriate.

Finishing:  Three-step process incorporating oil based stain to specified color, Power Process Opticlear Pre-Catalyzed 25 degree lacquer sanding sealer and topcoat 30-35 sheen. All parts sanded between coats.

Hardware:  KV1547 Nickel finish Desk Top Fasteners, LA-11248-3 Polished Brass Piano Hinge, .04 Gauge with #5x5/8" Polished Brass Screws. 1 1/8" ¼-20 GI-643-411-081 Levelers.   ¼-20 TN106SB8 Leveler Insert.  FEXSF72 White Tray Wire Management. Confirmat Connector 264.47.236

Component Specifications:

Tabletop is 1 1/8" 45 lb. Particleboard substrate with laminate backer sheet on underside and High Pressure Plastic laminate on the top. Laminate shall match in color and grain pattern the stained or natural finish of the solid oak components. Tabletop is banded with ¼" thick solid red oak lumber before top laminate is applied, and finished with a ¼" round over edge detail. A 3"x 28" flip-up door with a 1¼" x 3" notch for wire management is included on the back edge of the tabletop. A ¾" backsplash, 5" wide and 36" long is fastened to the table top 1 ¼" above the worksurface height.

Modesty panel is ¾" thick Oak Veneer MDF and extends 18" downward from the underside of the worksurface. The bottom edge is banded with ¼" thick solid oak. The grain runs in a vertical direction. Modesty panel is fastened to the legs and tabletop with (3) ¾" x ¾" solid oak cleats, drilled and countersunk to accept #8 x 1 ¼" square drive drywall screws.

The legs are 1" thick, 12" wide oak veneer MDF with ¼" solid oak banding on the vertical edges. This piece is blind tongue and grooved into the top and bottom horizontal leg members that are 1¼" x 2¼" x 21" solid oak. The leg assembly is fastened to the worksurface with desk top fasteners.
