Product Description:
Solid oak library chair with seat height 15½" above floor.

Materials: 

Lumber: All exposed wood shall be Northern Red Oak free from all detrimental defects and selected in uniform grade and color. Air and kiln dried to final moisture content of 5 to 6%. This material will then be allowed to condition a minimum of 30 days before machining.

Finishing:  Three-step process incorporating oil based stain to specified color, Power Process Opticlear Pre-Catalyzed 25 degree lacquer sanding sealer and topcoat 30-35 sheen. All parts sanded between coats.

Component Specifications:

Seat size is 13/16" thick, 16" wide, and 15 3/8" deep.  Seat is deeply saddled with front and side edges rounded over.

Front legs are 1½" by 1½" rounded in front and mortised to accept chair rails.

Back legs are 1" thick by 1¾" mortised to accept chair rails and angled above the seat for correct posture.

Box frame under the seat is mortised and tenoned into the chair legs; reinforced at all four corners with wood blocks secured with multiple tongue and grooved joints. This assembly is screwed to the seat bottom.

Upper back rails are ¾" thick curved oak, tenoned into the back chair legs. The top rail is 3½" wide. The lower rail is 2½" wide.

Five chair rungs support the lower chair. All rungs are mortised and tenoned into the chair legs.
