How the Beaver Pond Leveler Works
The MINNCOR Beaver Pond Leveling System is based upon the same design criteria as the Clemson Beaver Pond Leveler which was developed by Clemson University. Our system passes water through the dam in a manner that is undetectable by the Beavers.

When properly installed, water enters the Intake Device in small volumes. It is placed on the bottom of the pond, ditch or stream or suspended off the bottom. The Intake Device consists of a 10 Foot long piece of 8 inch diameter PVC pipe with several 2 inch holes drilled into it. The PVC pipe is suspended within a 24 inch diameter wire cage which keeps the beavers away from the pipe and keeps sediment from clogging the Intake Device. Attached to the Intake Device is rigid 8 inch PVC pipe that carries water at least 20 feet below the dam or culvert. Because the Beavers are then unable to detect the flow of water, they do not have the urge to build a dam. Beavers usually repair their dam after the leveler is installed, but their damming efforts are no longer effective in controlling the water level of the pond.
Proper installation of the MINNCOR Beaver Pond Leveling System creates an equilibrium that allows the desired water depth to be maintained. Depth of the water in the beaver pond is determined by attaching a 90 degree elbow (which is included in our kit), and if needed, a riser pipe extended up from the elbow.
