How can I ensure the well-being of my company if it were to hire an ex-offender?
Minnesota offers No-Cost Bonding Insurance against theft of any kind to all employers who have new or current employees who may be denied coverage by commercial carriers.
How do I know the ex-offenders are serious about working?
Most ex-offenders will be returning to their communities under some form of supervision. This supervision will promote ex-offenders to remain law abiding and motivated. The ex-offenders have a lot more to lose than your average employee, if fired.
How much will I save with the tax credit?
Employers will save 40% of the employee's first $6000 in wages after a minimum of 400 hours worked;
or
25% of the employee's first $6000 in wages if the employee worked at least 120 hours but less than 400 hours.
